If Keeks is on your radar, you’re probably already scoring pretty high on the savvy spectrum. You know you can get the benefits of designer handbags and accessories without so much of the cost, and you’re shopping for pre-owned designer accessories from an established company that doesn’t only exist online. Pretty smart. But could you shop even smarter?

We asked the sales staff at our different locations to share their insights about what they see smart shoppers do. Here are some tips, reminders, and one thing in particular that might surprise you:

Smart Shoppers…

1…Are not afraid to buy used.

If you’re looking for something specific, the staff at Firewheel Town Center recommends even having a screen shot of the handbag you have in mind on your phone.

Because no two stores have the same inventory, checking online helps many shoppers know where to start their search.

That being said, we do not have the entirety of our store inventories online, so it pays to stop in every now and then to see what’s new!

3…Sell their old bags when purchasing another.

5…Ask questions

Even when that question is “How do we know this item is authentic?” Every item at Keeks is guaranteed authentic, but Lawrence at Firewheel Town Center encourages customers to ask for details. “It allows us to display our knowledge of the product and the industry.”

Maybe this is why the Firewheel staff also noted that smart shoppers…

6…Don’t hold conversations on their cell phones while trying to shop.

“It’s hard to properly assist someone when they’re holding a separate conversation on the phone at the same time!” Keep your eye on the prize, shoppers!

7…Don’t buy on impulse.

This one was unanimous. “Don’t buy the first thing that catches your eye…when it catches your eye!” says Bre. Janet also recommends letting these important purchases “simmer” in your mind for a while.

8…Don’t let someone talk them into something they don’t like or want.

Saira cautions that sometimes a really good salesperson can make you feel like a product is better for you than it really is! She recommends reading up on reviews before you buy, but remember: “Just because everyone raves about a product doesn’t mean it’s the best for you.”

The common thread…

…we noticed in all staff responses--which might be a little surprising to some--was that each sales associate cared more about seeing someone go home with the right item than seeing them go home with just anything.

Maybe we’re biased, but we think this Keeks sales staff is pretty special :)
